How did Chick-fil-A get its start?
Our founder S. Truett Cathy started a small business in 1946, The Dwarf House (originally named the Dwarf Grill), with his brother Ben in Atlanta. It is where Truett invented what is now known as the original Chick-fil-A® Chicken Sandwich and, through the years, that Restaurant prospered and led Truett to further the success of his business. In 1967, Truett founded and opened the first Chick-fil-A Restaurant in Atlanta. Truett's family has continued his tradition of leadership, including his son Dan, who served as the company's CEO from 2013 to 2021, and grandson Andrew, who became the CEO of Chick-fil-A in 2021.
