Meet Rob Bourassa: A Calgary native bringing Chick-fil-A to his hometown
Local Owner-Operator Rob Bourassa aspires to make a difference in Alberta – one meal and one interaction at a time – at Chick-fil-A Macleod Trail.
Canadian entrepreneur Rob Bourassa has always enjoyed the thrill of business ownership and finding ways to spread kindness. As the new local Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A® Macleod Trail, he’ll have the opportunity to do both when his Restaurant opens in his hometown of Calgary, Alberta.
Following his entrepreneurial spirit
Rob’s first experiences working in the quick-service restaurant (QSR) industry in Canada date back to his teenage years. He thrived in the fast-paced environment and advanced from employee to supervisor to manager, always embracing opportunities for additional responsibilities. Along the way, he honed his business knowledge while also developing a passion for serving others and coaching and mentoring his team. After graduating from Southern Alberta Institute of Technology, Rob was given an opportunity to purchase a franchise at the QSR he had worked at and succeeded as a multi-unit franchisee of three locations in the Calgary area.
“I was born and raised in the Calgary area, finished my schooling in Calgary, worked around Calgary and am currently raising my family there,” explains Rob, who has three sons with his wife, Jennifer. “Calgary is my home and will always be my home.”
Spreading care in Calgary
Now, Rob looks forward to bringing Chick-fil-A’s signature hospitality and quality food to Calgary.
“My goal is to spread kindness throughout Calgary one meal and one interaction at a time,” he says. “I want my Restaurant to be recognized as a beacon of kindness – where every Guest experience is infused with care and genuine appreciation.”
Rob says this sentiment extends to the Team Members employed at his Restaurant, as well as to the community, where he wants to help foster a culture of compassion and connection. Part of Rob’s community-building approach will include participating in the
Chick-fil-A Shared Table™ food donation program, through which surplus food from his Restaurant will be redirected to a local non-profit to help those experiencing hunger and food insecurity in Calgary.
“Whether donating food or volunteering our time, I want our team to give back and serve others as much as we can,” says Rob. “I’m excited to bring Chick-fil-A to the city of Calgary and look forward to making a positive impact in the local community.”
